Sam, Where did your hair go - your dad had got a full crop!

Thanks Sam, excellent article. Not sure that it's possible to avoid politics in all organizations, but those with high Integrity will certainly avoid the dirty tricks.

People do make strategy to complicated. When a task becomes to cumbersome we tend to shy away from it. We need to keep things simple and implement ideas that everyone can get on board with.

I was just blogging away about this very topic when I stumbled upon your post. "Strategic Agility" is so going on my office door. Why is it that companies have a hard time identifying their "intellectual capital" in favor of "must fit in box." (Granted that's more old school brick and mortar).

Well done post. I especially appreciate the quote from Abraham Lincoln, as well as your father's maxim. Indeed, the written word must be vibrant, clean, and exact to carry the same complete message as the spoken word.

Hey Sam...typo in your dad's quote, and he's obviously too smart to have misspoken, so he's gonna be coming after you. Great book list, and a very thoughtful, insightful blog. Thanks for being out there.

Great article Sam! One comment - How about a post to 5 Rockstar qualities to look for in a manager, complete with interview questions? Not many people get to choose their manager, but in the event that they do - what should they look for?
